I am a professional mediator and writer.
I currently write a blog for Psychology Today (since 2017) The title of my blog is “Can’t We All Just Get Along?” My blog posts have currently been read over 105,000. times.
I began my writing career in Cleveland, after college, writing funny greeting cards for.American Greetings. I’ve written over 4,000 cards, including many best-sellers.
After two years in Cleveland, I moved to Los Angeles, where I worked as a comedy writer, winning an EMMY AWARD for writing on “The Monkees.”
Drawing on my background as the son of a Presbyterian minister, (Yes, a P.K!), I wrote “THE GOOD BOOK…of Bible Cartoons.” The drawings are by long-time drawing partner Sherman Labby.
I have written about much of my spiritual journey in my book, “Does GOD Ever Speak through CATS?”
Another collaboration with drawing partner Sherman Labby is my graphic novel comedy adventure, “The Hooper Brothers: Who’s in Front?”
In addition to humor, I am also an award-winning mediator. As part of my mediation training I went to South Africa for a conflict resolution immersion experience. While I was in South Africa I met with members of Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
For three years I served as a mediator for the Los Angele County Court Alternate Dispute Resolution Program. At 16,000 cases a year, it is the largest such program in the nation. For two of my three years with the court I received “The Outstanding Case of the Year Award.”
In addition to my Psychology Today blog, I am currently at work on a book, titled, “The Missing Scene From the 23rd Psalm.”
